Library Facilities: Sripat Singh
College Library was initiated with only 150 texts in 1949. Its growth and development
were very healthy during the past decades. Now it possesses more than thirty thousand
(30,000) texts and reference books. In scores this stock is housed in three large
halls. It has, besides, reading spaces separately for the students and the members
of the teaching and non-teaching staffs. Besides books, our Library keeps important
magazines, booklets, university question papers neatly compiled and bound, syllabuses.
News dailies are also available for regular readers.
Titles
are added yearly, chochen from the requirements submitted to the Library Committee.
The Library is also one of our "Social Networking Sites"! Students its
spacious confines very conductive to academic discussions.
Computer Conveniences : The college
boasts of a "fully-loaded", internet-enabled computer lab, overseen by
the Department of Computer Science. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art computers,
adequately matched and supported by Printers, Scanners, Routers and other peripherals.
In addition, all departments of the Science Faculty in particular, are equipped
with adequate computational facilities. The college has 15 separate routers for
Broadband Internet access. Modifications are underway for introducing Internet access
to all the departments through dedicated networks. The entire Administrative set-up
is computerised.
Laboratories : All the lab. based
subjects are provide with well equipped updated laboratories. Our departmental laboratories
are the most preferred for conducting the University Practical Examinations in Hons.

Day Care Center : The college is
pround to announce that it is the recipient of UGC Grant for construction of a Day
Care Center. This new addition was inauguarated by Shri Anisur Rahaman, Hon'ble
Minister, Govt. of West Bengal, on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration
of the College on August 01, 2009. The center houses a Students' Canteen and Refreshment
Rooms for visiting faculty and is coming up to full working capacity in the very
near future.
Hostel - Boys' and Girls' : The College
boasts of hostel accommodation for both boys and girls. The boys' hostel is older,
with boarding capacity for 100 students. The Foundation stone for the Girls' Hostel
was laid by Honourable MP, Shri Moinul Hassan on November 05, 2007 and the Hostel was
inaugurated but the honourable Finance Minister, GOI, Shri Pranab Mukherjee on August
01, 2009 with a capacity for 100 boarders.
Play Ground: There is a well equipped
and protected play ground with hostel campus. Inter Classes and Inter Colleges football
and cricket tournaments are held there including the college Annual Sports.
Canteen: A eat and clean canteen
is a new addition situated at the ground floor of proposed Auditorium building.
The canteen is run by a benefited agency approved by the Governing Body of the College.
College Authority looks after the hygienic condition of the canteen.
Garage: It is also a new addition
besides the canteen run by agency being approved by the authority. The regular benefited
students of the college enjoy the subsidised rate for keeping their bi-cycles and
motor cycles with safety and security.
Students' Health Home : Students
enjoy subsidized medical facilities and health care at the Students' Health Home.
The College is a valued member of the Organisation from its very inception.
Students' Union : The College Constitution
provides for the annual election of the Class Representative, Vice-President, General
Secretary and Games Secretary to the Students' Union. The Union organises various
cultural and social events: notable are the Annual Sports and Games, the Freshers'
Welcome and the College Annual Social Function. The Students' Union conducts its
function from the students union office situated at ground floor of Administrative
Building.
Common Room - Boys' and Girls' :
There are separate boys' and girls' common rooms with the facilities for indoor
games. The boys' common room is at Administrative Building and Girls' at Academic
Building.
Audio-Visual Equipment As Part of Teaching
and Learning : Under U.G.C. scheme and with its finazncial assistance the
college has full sets of audio-visual system including TV and VCP sets, projector,
microphones and other accessories.
Sripat Singh College Post Office :
In premises donated by Sripat Singh Dugar and within the college compound there
is a regular Sub Post Office named after the founder of the college with all sorts
of facilities including telephone service as P.C.O., except the Savings Bank.
